The Country Place Jamboree-Weekend Warriors, Elvis and Meatloaf on one stage.

I have been a lot of places with the Stardust group (Barbara Doss Brewer, CEO/Owner ) but this last trip was in the middle of the country, Kentucky County, which is how the Country Place Jamboree (www.countryplacejamboree.com) got its name.   The Country Place Jamboree (www.countryplacejamboree.com) is located on 60 Old Sheep Pen Rd Frankfort KY 40601. If you need extra help to find your way the G.P.S. coordinates.  Latitude 38°10′36. 94″N  – Longitude   84°59′20. 76″W

Well I thought we would never find our way there.  That is the uniqueness of the Country Place Jamboree and it was worth the trip. We went to Country Place Jamboree to see dsc_0390croppedChris Cline (www.myspace.com/chrisclinemusic) our very own Country Music sensation from CMT’s “Can You Duet.“ Chris performed on March 28th at the Country Place Jamboree and, as you can see from the photos, Chris was welcomed by his very own group of fans.

It is a beautiful ride to Frankford, but unlike Tennessee they don’t put signs up on every tree and corner.  I do recommend using your G.P.S. or Goggling directions or going to their web site to get directions. Chris was warmly welcomed by Dave and Tami and the ‘Weekend Warriors.” If you would like to find out where Chris Cline is performing next go to (www.myspace.com/chrisclinemusic.)

The Country Place Jamboree (www.countryplacejamboree.com) was build by a local Frankfort, KY businessman Bob Buffin, in 1974. His goal was to offer Live Music and good food in a family friendly atmosphere. It has theater seats, a dance floor and a perfect stage. Ownership now belongs to David and Tami Barrett who have poured a lot Daveof love and heart into The Country Place Jamboree while Buddy is still close by to say ‘Hi’ to everyone. The County Place Jamboree also serves food and maybe the best French Fries I have ever eaten.  They have burgers and Plate dinners too. Their menu can be seen on the web site. This is another one of those places that are kid friendly as I wasn’t aware of any alcohol being severed.

The Country Place Jambree has a house band called the Weekend Warriors, that played for us and it is pretty remarkable because Dave Barrett is battling recent health issues.  He can still hold his own with a guitar though.  Members of the Band are Tony Anglin, Floyd Lecompte, Tommy Bledsoe, Carrison “Cricket” Waldrige, Brian Fry and of course Dave Barrett

I try to find the unique quality of the places I go.  Here are a couple of things that make it worth the trip.  One is they do video of the performers playing on stage.  This alone makes the trip worthwhile for those looking for video.  They have a two-camera system, and a soundboard that leaves some of the amateur video behindChris Cline On Stage. The uniqueness of the building with the friendly county charm that only comes from the south.  Then there is my favorite, the Perkins Brothers.  I have found one of my favorite acts, a tribute band call the “Perkins Brothers”.  Most tribute bands lip sink, not the Perkins Brothers (http://www.elvisandmeatloaf.com). They jump in there as ELVIS The Perkins Brothers Hank Jr and SrPERKINS, MEATLOAF PERKINS, LYcountry place jambreeNYRD SKYNYRD PERKINS, and JOHNNY CASH PERKINS.  Finally a show that doesn’t take themselves too seriously and this is the perfect time to have fun. We as a people need a great value for our dollars and we need to laugh. The Country Place Jamboree and The Perkins Brothers (http://www.elvisandmeatloaf.com) fill these criteria. The Perkins Brothers (http://www.elvisandmeatloaf.com) also do concerts, festivals, and shows in the Kentucky area.  If you need someone to entertaHerin at that corporate dinner this group may be for you.
